This was one of my other attempts at creating a mid shot for my preliminary. I would not use this image as the model isn't looking directly at the camera. However i do like the simple black background as it doesn't detract from the model.
I wouldn't use this image as there is too much going on in the background and would be hard for the reader to concentrate on the sell lines and headings. |

Good example magazine
The price of the magazine is clearly stated and placed in a red circular shape so that it catches the readers attention. However, cleverly the font is quite small, which could deter readers from seeing the price and refusing to buy the product due to the this.
The title of this school magazine is `The Kings School’. The font used is sans serif and the colour used is quite plain and simplistic, however they do both stand out from the rest of the information on the page, outlining the contents of the magazine.
The smaller image and text on the right hand side of the magazine are an insight into what the contents of the magazine will be. The main image on this magazine, is the teenage boy, a long to mid shot. Maybe a student? This also helps the reader to establish what the text is about, as well as catching their attention when on sale. The use of the sell lines in capital letters, for example 'EXAM STRESS' instantly grabs the readers attention and draws them to this part of the magazine to find out what it will include or discuss inside. In the top right hand corner there is a logo of the school to indicate that the magazine is created by them. This helps the reader to establish the genre of the magazine.
